Magpies appoint new gaffer

Joseph Kinnear will take the reins at Newcastle United for a month, until a permanent Manager is appointed. The former Irish defender was selected for the temporary post after Terry Venables, who was highly favoured for the job, turned it down due to job security reasons.
The 61 year old has managed Wimbledon, Luton Town and Nottingham Forest in the past and has a good relationship with Technical Director Dennis Wise from his time at Wimbledon.
He will have a tough task ahead, especially since the Magpies have lost their three matches under caretaker manager Chris Hughton.
In an interview with the BBC he stated, “I’m excited… its a big challenge but one i’m really looking forward to.”
