Last weekend things went from good to worse for Barcelona as they played against Betis Sevilla in La Liga. Despite leading 2-0 at one point, Barcelona somehow lost the game and have even lost the second spot in the League to Villarreal. Schalke currently lay 3rd in the German League and their hopes of winning the title are a little slim, however they are doing surprisingly well in the Champions League this season. They are the second favorites to this game but we all know that the germans are always tough to beat and Schalke will fight to the end for a place in the semifinals. Both team will be missing Key players, Barcelona cannot line-up Messi, Deco or Ronaldinho. Schalke will have to do without their star midfielder Ivan Rakitic. The players will be highly motivated an it will be a great game to watch for the neutrals.
Mirko Slomka, Schalke’s coach said that they are facing Barcelona in the best moment of the season. The recent poor form of the Catalans make them a beatable opponent. The pressure is rising fast on Rijkaard and he needs to win the Champions League to hope to save his job. Mourinho and Guardiola are just around the corner waiting for a slip-up.

Possible first 11 :
FC Schalke 04: Neuer - Rafinha, Bordon, Krstajic, Westermann - Grossmüller, F. Ernst - Asamoah, Pander - Kuranyi, Halil Altintop.
FC Barcelona: Victor Valdes - Zambrotta, Puyol, G. Milito, Abidal - Xavi, Touré, Iniesta - Bojan, Eto’o, Henry.
