Rooney love at stylish success

Wayne Rooney insists he is more concerned by Manchester United’s winning style rather than ending his six-match goal drought in the 4-0 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday

England striker Rooney ended his half-dozen run of games without a goal with a couple of cool finishes in the second half to seal the points at Old Trafford.
Cristiano Ronaldo had made the breakthrough with a back heel through the legs of Villa defender Martin Laursen and Carlos Tevez made it 2-0 before half-time.
And as United reinforced their lead at the top of the Premier League, Rooney has revealed his delight with the Red Devils’ style rather than his personal scoring return.
A few people have been talking about it but the main thing is we have been winning games,” Rooney said when asked about the end of his goalless run.
“It was a well-deserved three points. Some of our passing and movement was brilliant.
“I love it when we play like that and it was a great goal by Cristiano, unbelievable.
“We have just got to keep focussing with six games left and keep the winning habit.”
