Arsenal hit by Sagna Injury blow

Arsenal defender Sagna has been ruled out of play for three weeks after ankle injury in Chelsea game.

The defender who scored Arsenal’s only goal in the defeat to Chelsea, 2-1, picked up an injury in-game, limping off on the 72nd minute.

He will now miss all three games with Liverpool, both Champions League legs and the Premiership clash. Also, quite importantly, he will miss the most important title clash against Manchester United on 13th April. This could be important since he has played most games since his singing from Auxerre over the Summer transfer window.

Arsene Wenger added: “He wanted to kick the ball out and he twisted his ankle”.

Definitely a blow to Arsenal in the run-in to have someone like Sagna ruled out. He’s been a revelation for them this season and a surprise candidate for their player of the year. It’s a boost for Liverpool ahead of the Champions League and League double header next week though. He’s surprised many this season with how quickly he’s adapted to England and his injury will be a major concern now to Wenger with the serious games coming up.
