Saviola back on Juve radar

Juventus may be forced to re-ignite their interest in Javier Saviola should they miss out on primary transfer target Diego.

The Turin giants are understood to be very keen on netting Werder Bremen’s Brazilian star this summer, but it is by no means certain that they will land him.
Diego himself is thought to be more interested in a move to Real Madrid, who undoubtedly have more buying power on the market than the Italian giants.
With that in mind, Juve are understood to be assessing whether to make a move for Real’s forgotten man Saviola.
The Argentine only joined the Spanish champions last summer on a free transfer from Barcelona after Juve had expressed an interest.
However, the 27-year-old’s Bernabeu stay has turned into a nightmare as he has rarely featured under new boss Bernd Schuster.
The South American is thus expected to move on again at the end of the season and Juve may see him as an attractive alternative to Diego.
Saviola would come with the added bonus of an EU passport and a relatively low transfer fee seeing as he’s currently valued at around £3.5m.
