Chelsea will be without Petr Cech against Barnsley after Avram Grant revealed he will be missing for another week.

Cech

The influential goalkeeper had to miss the Olympiakos game after picking up an ankle injury but was hoping to be fit in time for Saturday’s FA Cup sixth round clash at Oakwell.

Cech has been undergoing extensive treatment on the injury in a bid to get him fit but boss Grant says he has not travelled to South Yorkshire with the rest of the squad.

“He’s getting better, but it will take about one week more,” revealed Grant.

Cech’s absence means Carlo Cudicini will again deputise for Cech with Hilario promoted to the substitutes bench.
