Goals from Michael Ballack, Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou gave Chelsea a 3-0 win over Olympiakos Piraeus on Wednesday and a place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Chelsea went through 3-0 on aggregate after a goalless first leg in Athens.

Ballack rose unmarked to head home a Lampard cross in the fifth minute and Lampard poached a 25th-minute goal after goalkeeper Antonis Nikopolidis failed to hold a Ballack shot.

Three minutes into the second half Kalou poked the ball past Nikopolidis from a Lampard corner.

Olympiakos rarely troubled Chelsea’s defence until substitute Fernando Belluschi hit the bar with a long-range shot in the 83rd minute.
