Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson admits they need Elano to rediscover his best if they’re to clinch European qualification this season.

“We want to see Elano in the same form as he was at the beginning of the season,” said Eriksson. “I would very much like to see that. He needs games now. Looking at him in training, I think he’s on the right track again. His start to the season was marvellous, but to fade a little is normal for players coming to the Premier League.”

Elano was forced off in the second-half of yesterday’s 0-0 draw with Wigan.
