Roma made good on their promise to keep the title race alive by thrashing Parma 4-0 on Saturday to close the gap on Serie A leaders Internazionale to six points.

The Giallorossi, who drew at Inter in mid-week, punished two errors by the Parma defence to take command.

Alberto Aquilani scored with a first-half tap-in following a handling error by goalkeeper Luca Bucci before Giulio Falcone put the ball into his own net for Roma’s second after the restart.

Roma captain Francesco Totti then made it three and substitute Mirko Vucinic sealed a convincing triumph late on.
