Valencia chairman Juan Soler is reportedly in talks to sell one third of the Primera Division outfit according to El Pais.

Former Telefonica chairman Juan Villalonga, who is now based in London, is believed to have arrived in Spain to discuss a 66 million euros (£49.7million) transaction.

The club’s second biggest shareholder, Vicente Soriano, admitted on Cadena Sar radio station that he had alerted his friend Villalonga to the possibility of acquiring a stake in the club after Soler had first offered to sell the share to him.

If the deal goes through then Villalonga would take a place on the Los Che board, but would not become the new chairman.
The club currently sit ninth in the Spanish top-flight after a disappointing domestic campaign and were unceremoniously dumped out of the UEFA Champions League at the group stage.

They are also believed to be in around 300 million euros (£226million) worth of debt.
