Porto ace drops United hint

Porto right-back Jose Bosingwa has hinted at a possible summer move to Manchester United just as Gary Neville made another return bid.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with a swoop for the 25-year-old Congo-born Portugal international for the past year with an end-of-season swoop looking inevitable following Wes Brown’s failure to agree a new contract and 33-year-old skipper Neville’s 11-month absence due to calf and ankle problems.

United spent £17million on Anderson from Porto last summer and looks like making an offer for his former team-mate with Bosingwa also confirming he could be open to a move to Old Trafford. He said: “I am very happy here, but if there are proposals, I would welcome a way out, if it were good for myself and for FC Porto.”

Bosingwa’s admission comes just as Neville completed 60 minutes for the reserves in Tuesday’s 2-0 defeat against Liverpool at Warrington in his latest attempt at a first-team return.
