Zanetti: We need to fight back

Inter captain Javier Zanetti has issued a rallying call to his downcast Nerazzurri teammates. “It’s time to fight back.”

Despite their complete domestic dominance, the atmosphere in the Inter camp is gloomy after Tuesday night’s 2-0 defeat against Liverpool.
Marco Materazzi was dismissed and Ivan Cordoba sustained a serious injury on a damaging evening, but Zanetti agrees with President Massimo Moratti that there is no need to panic.
“As a captain, the first thing that I noticed was how disappointed the lads were by the defeat because we fought so hard to return home with a different result,” the 34-year-old told Sky Sport Italia.
“There is no argument with anything that happened. We may have taken the loss hard, but we are confident that we can overturn this deficit.
“I have seen a great faith from the Coach, the President and my teammates. Anything can happen in 90 minutes and we are still in it.
“To get to the Final of the Champions League would be ideal, but we were just reminded that nothing can be taken for granted.”
Inter host Liverpool on March 11 and need a 3-0 win to progress in normal time.
