Sharpe: Giggs can go on

Former Manchester United star Lee Sharpe believes Ryan Giggs can go on to break the all-time appearance record currently held by Bobby Charlton.
The two played together at Old Trafford during the early to mid-1990’s and the former Sampdoria man has backed his old team-mate to carry on at the club for quite some time yet.
Giggs has played 744 times for The Red Devils and is only 15 games away from equalling Charlton’s record.
“Giggsy is amazing; he just keeps going on and on. There was a time a few years ago when people thought he should move on or United should sell him.
“Then about three or four years ago he started the season flying and he was putting in some brilliant performances. I am delighted for him.
“I was a couple of years older than him when he started and you could tell he was a class act.
“I think the way he has kept his motivation up over all those years is incredible and he deserves all the accolades he gets.”
“I think he can go on for another season, maybe even longer. But it’s getting harder and harder because it’s a young mans game so it will be tough for him to carry on much longer after that.”
Giggs’ record speaks for itself, he has won the Premier League nine times, the FA Cup four times, two League Cups, a Champions League, a UEFA Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup.
