Muller: Schalke duo to stay

Schalke sporting director Andreas Muller claims that Liverpool target Rafinha and Inter target Ivan Rakitic will stay in Gelsenkirchen.

Brazilian full back Rafinha and Croatia international Rakitic were the heroes for the German side on Tuesday night, when they defeated Porto 1-0 in the Champions League last 16 first leg.

The duo are experiencing a terrific season in Die Bundesliga and have been linked to The Premier League and Serie A sides.

Muller wants to keep his key players at the club and claims that he has not received bids for them.

“We haven’t received any offers and no enquiry has been made from both clubs, anyway we wouldn’t sell the two players,” Muller told Bild.

“They are very important elements of the club thanks to their performances, they are Schalke’s future.”
