FA says no controversial plan

The FA have rejected the English Premier League’s ‘39th game’ proposal in a reply that claims the plan is lacking sustainability.

The controversial plan that has been the main topic of talk for the Premier League and several continents around the world over the past few weeks has finally been rejected after a meeting held by the FA and Premier League executives. After the meeting Lord Triesman, chief executive of the FA (pictured) claimed that the plans were unsustainable and that if the Premier League were to issue a revised plan, it had better be done soon.
The plan consisted of a proposal that a ‘39th game’ would be played by each team, creating an extra 10 games of randomly drawn sides. The top 5 teams would be seeded and the games would be played in five of the ‘highest bidding’ cities of the world. The proposal was to vacate more money for all the Premier League clubs; especially the lower sides, as the top teams had already began this, and was to begin from season ‘10/’11.
However, from the first announcements of the proposal it was ridiculed by many, Sepp Blatter being op of the hierarchy most importantly, claiming that this would affect effect England’s plans to host the World Cup, which also turned many MP’s against the proposals. Several Premiership manager such as Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger were against it; furthermore were also the target market. Saudi Arabia, Japan, North America and the Asian association also were against plans.
Several flaws such as player fatigue and ruining of culture have rendered the plan unsustainable, claims Lord Triesman. The Premier Leagues plans are restill alive, however have had a, possibly, ultimate blow.
Premier League Chief Executive Scudamore tell that they have been given the opportunity to speak to Fifa, despite Blatter’s retaliation; and he doesn’t understand how this could effect England’s chances of hosting the world cup; which will be decided on a later date in Zurich.
